The Traditional Stain Company can formulate colours to suit specific design requirements. Colours that are difficult to be attained with traditional solvent-based stains can be formulated with our water-based stains. Samples can be colour matched to provide an exact match or variation of your sample. When colour matching we require a large raw sample of the timber being used and a sample of the desired finish. Through a process of development with the client we can modify the colour to best suit the intended space. It is important to note that the stain will only be as light as the timber being used; the raw colour of the timber can not be lightened. Due to the natural properties of timber the finish will vary if the sample piece of timber is a different species or age to that of the timber being used in the project.
